Fanny Stauff est artiste peintre et cheffe décoratrice de cinéma. Diplômée en scénographie de l’École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris en 2001, elle développe depuis lors un double parcours dans le cinéma et la peinture.
Peinture et scénographie procèdent chez elle d’une même attention à l’espace, à la narration et à la manière dont les formes produisent du sens. Composition, cadrage, couleur, matière ou échelle participent d’un langage où chaque choix contribue à donner forme à une idée, une perception ou une atmosphère, tout en ouvrant l’image à plusieurs niveaux de lecture.
Au cinéma, elle a collaboré à de nombreux longs métrages et séries, notamment L’Heure d’été d’Olivier Assayas, Les Saveurs du palais et L’Hermine de Christian Vincent, ainsi qu’aux cinq saisons du Bureau des Légendes. Comme cheffe décoratrice, elle signe notamment les décors de Petites Mains de Nessim Chikhaoui, Alter Ego de Nicolas Charlet et Bruno Lavaine, Ulysse de Laetitia Masson et Promets-moi de Nicolas Cuche.
Son travail de peintre a été présenté à Paris, notamment à la galerie 24b et à la Galerie Espace Temps, ainsi qu’à la Chapelle de Fitou. De juin à octobre 2025, l’exposition Résurgences, à l’abbaye médiévale de Lagrasse, a réuni un ensemble de ses peintures récentes.
Fanny Stauff vit à Paris et travaille entre Paris et son atelier dans le Sud de la France .
Fanny Stauff is a painter and production designer for film. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris (ENSAD), where she specialised in scenography in 2001, she has since pursued a dual career in film and painting.
Painting and scenography stem from the same attention to space, narrative, and the ways in which forms generate meaning. Composition, framing, colour, material and scale form a language in which every choice contributes to giving shape to an idea, a perception or an atmosphere, while opening the image to multiple levels of interpretation.
In film, she has worked on numerous feature films and series, including Summer Hours by Olivier Assayas, Haute Cuisine and Courted by Christian Vincent, as well as all five seasons of The Bureau. As a production designer, her recent credits include Petites Mains by Nessim Chikhaoui, Alter Ego by Nicolas Charlet and Bruno Lavaine, Ulysse by Laetitia Masson, and Promets-moi by Nicolas Cuche.
Her paintings have been exhibited in Paris, notably at Galerie 24b and Galerie Espace Temps, as well as at the Chapelle de Fitou. From June to October 2025, the exhibition Résurgences, at the medieval Abbey of Lagrasse, brought together a substantial body of her recent paintings.
Fanny Stauff lives in Paris and works between Paris and her studio in southern France.
